Are there days where you just don't want to workout? It’s that day where your bed may feel warm and comfy, it’s dark and cozy and your body feels limp and heavy and you don’t want to move. Yes we all have them! We either stayed up late and we are sleepy, or better yet we just don’t feel like doing it, we much rather lie in bed sleep a little later or for those who workout in the afternoon or at night we just want to go home, or just go eat dinner, or just chill with your spouse or friends. No matter which one you are in the back of your mind you know you should have worked out and most times we end up feeling bad for not just getting up and getting it done.Well yesterday I had one of those days. I was a little tired (notice I said a little not run down, lazy) didn't feel like moving and my bed felt so good and the sound of my oscillating fan blowing around in my room created a wonderful and relaxing ambiance and it was making it even harder to get up.
So how did I get out of bed and start working out you ask? It's simple I went back to my tried and true motivation tactic I use to inspire myself to keep working and to keep pressing for my goal.
That method is: Measuring my waistline and my hips!
Seeing that inch off my waist and hip in just a little over a week and half made my decision easier and made me excited to put those workout clothes on and press play to my workout DVD. When I measure myself it sends a message to my brain that my workouts and my healthy eating habits are working and in order to keep that progress up I must keep putting in the hard work. There are even times I feel that I have gained weight and I don’t feel as if I am losing weight, instead of stepping on the scale (beware: women you know our weight fluctuates) I pull out the measuring tape I see that I have lost inches and it drives me harder.
So do you have a motivator in your life that helps you to keep pressing on in your workout? I would like to hear what you do to keep that fire burning or do you need a motivator why not try measuring yourself push the scale to the side and really try a method that will reflect your hard work. BE MOTIVATED!
Blessings,
Endia
